JF Apex innovates with HR Technology

Jacob Fleming Apex has designed and organised a top of the line ‘HR Technology Summit’ in response to the latest developments in technology being used in HR management. JF Apex has personally invited HR Decision Makers to join the Summit which will provide a programme dedicated to learning about these processes from a selection of Senior HR industry speakers.

Taking place on the 3rd, 4th and 5th November 2008 at the five star A.B. Skipper Hotel in Barcelona the event is also open to solution providers to take advantage of unique networking opportunities in a 1-2-1 format. This is an opportunity to demonstrate what they can offer directly to an attentive and relevant market.

The use of technology in HR management has grown considerably in recent years. Human resource Information Systems (HRIS) have developed from being largely used for administrative and data recording purposes to being applied in processes such as recruitment, workforce planning, flexible benefits, absence management, learning, development and employee engagement.

By automating as many processes as possible, HR has been able to significantly reduce the time spent on routine administrative tasks, allowing them time to manage the HR function in a strategic manner to become true partners in the business.

Despite the considerable growth in the application of technology in HR, this area is still under-researched in terms of comprehensive examination of the impact of technology on people management, communication and the HR function itself.

Participants at this event will discover what the effective IT processes and programs are from the expert speakers. Nokia’s Director of Finance and Control for Global HR will be attending as one of these speakers. In mid-2007 Nokia employed over 50 000 people from more than 120 nationalities. This presentation will share how Nokia has achieved human capital reporting both internally and externally and how workforce metrics has influenced key decision making processes in the various lines of business.

Online recruiting forms one of the central pillars of a smart staffing strategy for firms in every economic sector. Leader of HR Web Solutions at Lufthansa AG will sharing the advantages that e-recruitment has given them in regards to resource management. He will present the different ways in which online recruiting can be used, the challenges and how things may develop in the future.

Another key speaker at the event comes as the Senior Business Director at BT. This presentation will highlight the benefits and challenges of employee engagement by implementing a flexible working environment.

The Director of Corporate HR Strategy & Controlling at Bertelsmann will also be contributing to the event. He will lay out the role and responsibility of HR departments during merger and acquisition transactions. He will be sharing which tools can be used to support relevant issues, to make results visible and accessible and even support decision making.

Other speakers are scheduled to attend from HSBC, Cargill, Adecco, Whirlpool, UCB Group, Medtronic and Yahoo. With such an expert array of speakers this event promises to be a unique opportunity to refine, streamline and create strategies to drive HR functions forward.
