Jacob Fleming provides strategic event on Energy Efficiency

Jacob Fleming, leading B2B strategic meeting organisers are to host an event named ‘Energy Efficiency and Clean Development Mechanisms’ in support of today’s Oil and Gas Industry. The conference is being held on the 7th & 8th October 2008 in beautiful Barcelona.

The current situation in the oil refining, chemical and petrochemical industry is evolving. Stringent governmental regulation and the requirements of the Kyoto Protocol means that companies are investing huge amounts of capital in new technologies, strategies and clean development mechanisms.

There is the need for these companies to know how to best implement these changes in their already profitable plants and refineries and how they can successfully minimise the possible costs and take advantage of the possible opportunities such as leaner, more efficient operations, an increase in profits and the ever sought after competitive edge.

The event will bring together industry experts to share their experiences and understand emerging technologies. The speakers will be presenting case studies and having panel discussions which will give attendees a strong platform for learning as well as having the opportunity for networking with fellow operators during the whole event.

One of the guest speakers comes from Petrobras: The Energy Efficiency Manager will discuss the most recent developments in the industry, overcoming challenges associated with adapting operations and predicting the future of energy efficiency in the oil refinery, chemical and petrochemical industry.

Lead Environmental Engineer at Qatar Petroleum will present a case study on choosing the right clean development mechanism and measuring the performance in terms of emission reduction. He will also define how to comply with various factors: auditors requirements, Kyoto requirements and local authorities.

Other guest speakers covering topics from assessing carbon footprint to the benefits of cogeneration in Plants and Refineries will attend from companies including Total, The PACE Centre, Technical University Delft, Rompetrol, Neste Jacobs Oil, Sabic Technology Centre, MOL, Borealis, Unipetrol, Fluor and Gassnova.
